2021 soccer season canceled

I regret to inform you all that, in order to protect the health and safety of all involved, the Deacon Body of Cheraw First Baptist has decided that we should not go forward with our annual indoor soccer league at this time.

We are currently experiencing a  spike in Chesterfield County and our hospital is taxed, likely at least partially as a result of Thanksgiving gatherings.  Furthermore, another spike is expected in January, again likely due to Christmas gatherings. Beyond that, we just really do not know what to expect from the winter months . . . and the normal seasonal flu has not yet arrived.

We will be returning your registration fees via mail within the next few weeks, however, please do not look for this before the end of the year since the holidays are upon us.

We will continue to watch along with everyone else what happens with Covid-19 over the next few months and, should we feel it safe to offer a league in late winter/early spring, we will consider that.  I realize that would conflict with recreation league baseball (should that happen this spring) but it would be an outlet for kids who do not play baseball.  Please pray with us as we consider that down the road and, if that is something your family might like to do, please feel free to let me know.

While we do not know what the future holds as far as Covid is concerned, we do know that the future is in God's most capable and loving hands.  For that and the salvation we have in Christ, we can be thankful even in the midst of current, and perhaps future, difficult circumstances.  We will simply continue to praise His name and give Him all the glory.
