Lora Chavis has received her credentials as licensed professional counselor in South Carolina after serving as a counselor in agencies within the state for more than 13 years. Lora works with individuals and groups of all ages to address grief and loss, depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship and family issues, adult survivors of child abuse, adult children of alcoholics, pre-marital counseling, couples counseling, divorce recovery for adults and children, assisting with life transitions and helping people become the best version of themselves.
Her counseling philosophy is based on a passage from the book of Romans 12:2 – “be transformed by the renewing of your mind . . .” She believes we can change the way we live by changing the way we think. Our thought processes affect how we feel about ourselves and others and ultimately how we live our lives.
Lora sees clients part-time at Cheraw First Baptist Church. Lora is a full-time faculty member at Northeastern Technical College since August 2006, and lives in Cheraw with her husband, Tommy of 20 years. She is the mother of two adult sons, Adam and Jonathan, and a proud grandmother of two and counting! You can contact her by calling (843) 622-7290.
