Our desire at Cheraw First is to be a church that makes disciples who Gather with the body of Christ, Grow into the image of Christ, Give to the work of Christ, and Go with the message of Christ. This foundational discipleship strategy is at the heart of what we do. We teach these steps through our Growth Track introductory discipleship classes.
Every Sunday morning our church family comes together to spend time corporately worshipping God through listening to biblical teaching, praying together, and singing songs to praise God for who He is and celebrate what He has done in our lives. We also gather in small groups for fellowship and discipleship.
While the Sunday morning worship service is important, the crucial environments for fellowship, encouragement, and discipleship are small groups. In Small Groups, we consistently meet with others to do life together by studying Scripture together, praying together, and caring for each other.
God created and called all of us to use what we have given for the glory of God and to be a blessing to others. When we give, we are worshipping the Giver (who set the standard when He gave His Son to be crucified). At our church, we primarily give our time and talents by serving on a ministry team and we give our treasure through offerings that support the ministries of our church in addition to local, state, and other missions.
The gospel message is not a "come and see" message but a "go and tell" message and we do that in the form of missions. We strive to be an Acts 1:8 missional church by not only giving to missions but going on missions. We do missions in many ways; from local missions to mission partnerships with church plants in Boston and Puerto Rico.
