Membership is an important step for you and for Cheraw First. We believe that God calls his people to find community in the context of the local church. In Paul's letter to the church in Corinth, he talked about the Church as the local "body" of believers. A body with different parts and roles, but one united body. Please take a moment to look over our membership process.
Let's Get your information
Filling out a membership form accomplishes two things. First, it lets our church leadership know you are serious about membership. Second, it gives us the best, most up-to-date information about you and your family. Our goal is to make sure every person desiring to be a part of our family of faith has the opportunity to truly belong.
Meet with a pastor
Every person desiring membership with our church is asked to sit down with one of our pastors for a confidential yet relaxed time of fellowship, discussion, and prayer. We believe in fulfilling our role as a church by taking time to find out how we can truly help you in your journey of following Christ. We will be glad to meet with you during a time that works best for you and your family. Once you and the pastor are comfortable moving forward in the membership process, you will be asked and expected to attend our Growth Track classes.
Growth track classes
During this class, our pastor will share his vision for the church along with the vital role each member can and should play. You will also be given a tour of our facilities and have an opportunity to meet our pastoral staff. Each individual will be given a membership covenant that they are asked to sign as an outward profession of your desire to be a faithful church member. The membership class is offered throughout the year on select Sunday's right after morning worship. Lunch is served because hey...we're family.
Welcome home
New members who have completed the membership process and attended all sessions of our Growth Track will then be presented to the church after a Sunday morning service where the pastor will briefly introduce and welcome you home.
